Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, we were surrounded by news publications and stations. The journalism bug bit me early on while watching a Barbara Walters celebrity special. She was revolutionary for women writers in news and television programming. I wanted to be her – to anchor a program, tell fascinating stories and, of course, interview celebrities.
I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with BA in journalism and minor in Public Relations. My career started with a small PR firm in Chicago before I headed out west to Arizona. I zigzagged back to St. Louis and Chicago area where I finished my years in journalism.
For the past 10 years, I’ve been in the metro DC area focused on marketing communications with niche firms and non profit organizations.
As our family adjusts to our new home in Germany, at least for the next few years, I’m giving my entrepreneur ideas to work as a freelance writer.
My focus is copywriting for small businesses. I love helping them get noticed and gain clients with effective and engaging marketing.
